SIGN OF THE BELLBIRD
The Sign of the Bellbird – A Breathtaking Transformation
Maugers Contracting proudly presents The Sign of the Bellbird project, a remarkable transformation undertaken for the John Jameson Memorial Trust. Nestled amidst the Port Hills, this once rundown car park offered a stunning view that deserved to be rejuvenated into something extraordinary.
Our skilled team started with a comprehensive excavation of the old car park then foundations for the stone walls were dug in.
To create an enduring and visually captivating solution, Maugers collaborated with stone masons to place locally sourced rocks as a retaining wall; harmoniously blending the landscape’s natural beauty with the new design.
The final step was asphalting a smooth and inviting surface for locals and tourists to park and take in the scenery.
President of the Summit Road Society, Bill Woods, expressed his delight with the lookout area’s attractiveness. With awe-inspiring views of Lyttelton Harbour and beyond, it has become a must-visit destination on the Port Hills.
Maugers Contracting takes immense pride in being part of projects that positively impact our communities and showcase the beauty of our region. The transformation of The Sign of the Bellbird and its surroundings stands as a testament to our commitment to excellence and our dedication to creating spaces that leave a lasting impression on all who visit.
